STRESS

So, I started posting THE BET in hopes that my flist would motivate me to complete it.

Unfortunately, I only got one chapter posted before real life intervened. After spending all summer trying to get a job as a teacher, I suddenly got an interview last week. Then I found, applied for, and am halfway through the acceptance process for an online tutoring gig (to make a few extra dollars a week). And then today I had two more interview requests for next week.

So, RL has exploded, to say the least. My current boss keeps fussing at me to tell him when I'll be leaving, but I can't because even with three interviews, I can't be certain I'll get a job. So I don't want to say, oh, I'll be leaving X day, only for him to hire a replacement and then I can't stay if the new jobs fall through.

ARG. I don't even know. So much stress. I have had a headache for the past two weeks, and my sleep is so screwed up. When I'm stressed, rather than get insomnia, I tend to oversleep. I can sleep 12, 15, even 18 hours a night, no problem! I spent half of my last semester of college sleeping, due to stress that I was now having to GROW-UP (gasp!) and then flunked a class because my oversleeping kept me from completing assignments.

Anyway, that's been my life lately. I promise I'm still trying to finish THE BET, but unstable mental health means that until I get a new job and my stress levels go down, my writing will be sporadic. Sigh. What I wouldn't give to be normal...
